Oncology in Utrecht | the Netherlands [opening 2018] brings

training together in one national center.
The center becomes the largest pediatric
oncological center of Europe.
Facilities as
operating rooms and the Intensive Care
Children are shared with the University
medical center Utrecht and the Wilhelmina
Children’s Hospital as much as possible. The
top research conducted in collaboration with
the Dutch Cancer Institute Antoni van
Leeuwenhoek Hospital (NKI-AVL) is also
taking place in the Princess Máxima Center.
World Child Cancer Global signed an
agreement with World Child Cancer – NL,
established by the Princess Máxima Center
for Childhood Oncology. Worldwide, more than
250,000 children are affected every year by
cancer, the majority of whom live in a
developing country. Survival in the poorest
countries is less than 10%, as opposed to
more than 80% in developed countries. World
